My name is Naomi Itua-Ibharia, and I am currently studying as a graduate student in the Master of Digital Media and Global Communication program at the University of Niagara Falls Canada. I have a background in Computer Science and over ten years of experience in graphic design, along with several years of experience in user experience and user interface design.
My academic interests focus on the intersection of digital media, emerging technologies, and user-centered design. I am particularly interested in how artificial intelligence can be used to create meaningful and accessible digital experiences.
My capstone project focuses on designing an AI-powered career coaching platform specifically for UI/UX, product, and graphic designers.
Unlike general career tools, this platform emphasizes personalization and user-centered design. It is designed to simulate real-world professional scenarios, such as presenting portfolio projects, explaining design decisions, and responding to role-specific questions.
The platform provides coaching-style feedback that helps users improve how they communicate their ideas, structure their responses, and demonstrate their impact. The goal is to create a supportive digital environment that helps designers build confidence and prepare effectively for professional opportunities.
This website was created as part of the Foundations of Digital Media course. It explores how digital media and emerging technologies are transforming career development and professional preparation.
The project applies key concepts from the course, including:
The future of digital media
The impact of emerging technologies
the role of digital platforms in shaping society and communication
digital curation and the organization of online resources
